For four full generations, in their corner of Umbria just outside Montefalco, the Tabarrini family have lovingly and passionately tended their vines, producing distinctive wines. Towards the end of the 1990’s, however, thanks to the foresight and enthusiasm of the present proprietor, Giampaolo, the company changed direction, deciding to bottle their own wines and to put all their years of experience to the best possible use. Shortly after this, the new “cantina” building took shape, nestling in the evocative, rolling landscape that is so typically Umbrian, inspiring harmony between Nature and Man. Half of the vineyard (11 hectares out of a total of 22), is dedicated to the Sagrantino grape, which has found its true “raison d’être” here in Umbria and plays a central role in the work and the lives of everybody involved; fascinating and irreplaceable. But great wines grow only from a great love of the land. From the bunch to the bottle. The whole family follows this philosophy scrupulously and passionately through every step in the production of their wines. |
